What is Unitarian Universalism?

Unitarian Universalism is a quintessentially American faith tradition, with some 1,000 congregations around the country. It is a non-creedal, non-sacramental faith that encourages the use of reason, an ongoing search for truth and meaning, dedication to personal spiritual growth, and working for social justice and peace.

Unitarian Universalism is a religion that grew out of the consolidation in 1961 of the Unitarians (organized in 1825) and the Universalists (organized in 1793). Go to www.uua.org for more information on the larger UU community.

Each Unitarian Universalist congregation is the fulfillment of a long heritage that goes back hundreds of years to courageous people who struggled for freedom in thought and faith. We keep our minds open to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places.

The Skylands Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations and serves Warren and western Morris counties in New Jersey.
