Madelyn Hoffman of Flanders is a longtime peace activist and executive
director of New Jersey Peace Action. The national Peace Action It is
the nation's largest grass roots organization, founded as SANE
(later to become SANE/Freeze) in 1957.
The group's goals include ending the threat of nuclear war, promote a
more peaceful economy, bring an end to weapons trafficking, encourage
non-military solutions to international conflicts and promote conflict
resolution at all levels.
